  “The Blonde Terror of Terra Haute,” as the Indiana-native Bud Taylor was billed, was to contend for the vacant NBA bantamweight prize in this match-up slated with Tony Canzoneri of New York.  When Canzoneri could not appear, Eddie Shea substituted and took the 10-frame loss.  Canzoneri and Taylor went at it for the 1^st time a month later, but fought to a draw.  In July in a rematch held in Soldier Field, Taylor won through to claim the title.  Future hall of famer Canzoneri would eventually hold both the world junior welterweight and lightweight crowns simultaneously.
