  Reese, Kid vs. Pelz, Maxie
Liuzza, Nutzie vs. Mars, Bobby  IV

Lazzano, Frank vs. Vargas, Gus  II
  Ritchie, Willie (referee)

Though good enough to stand in with Maxie Rosenbloom for 10 rounds and later contest the Pacific Coast heavyweight title, Washington State's Willard Dix was not main draw of the headline match at the Arcadia in Oakland, the well-reputed Oregonian light heavyweight Gene O'Grady was.  But when O'Grady bowed out, Dix defeated the replacement boxer, the "Oakland Wildman" Frankie Denny, after the referee Willie Ritchie stopped the fight when Denny's wrist was broken in the 5th round.  Another loss after more than a year of recovery would persuade Denny to leave the profession.  The undercard of West Coast circuit regulars included a pair that went the slated middling distance and 2 that ended more quickly.  California's Big Valley's Kid Reese, an active journeyman out of Modesto, earned the win from the scorecards at the end of 6 with Portland's Maxie Peltz, and the puckishly-named New Orleans native Nutzie Liuzza hammered home the win over 6 with the Filippino battler Bobby Mars, his 4th donneybrook with the San Francisco resident, resulting in a pair of draws followed by 2 wins for the touring Louisianan nut.  Of the 2 knockouts that night, Seattle's Eddie McFarland's fall in only his 2nd professional appearance seemed to come without a blow from the able Bay Area middleweight Elmer Mason but was enough to end McFarland's career.  The other shortened event, a rematch between 2 Californians, Frank Lazzano, out of Pittsburg off the Bay, and Decoto (now Union City in Alameda County) featherweight Gus Vargus, also in his 2nd pro bout, that had the same result as their previous engagement, Lazzano knocking out the novice in 3.
